And so it begins

Looking hood. Nice to get some shiny bits on 😁 Why the nylock nuts on the upper fulcrum rather than castleated nuts? I had to make some washers like you did also to fit the spax. I noticed today that the upper ones were turning in the upper mount eye which is not good. The metal for the upper mount ...

Springs... 2.5" 2.25" whats the difference

20190526_132415.jpg 20190526_132432.jpg 20190526_131819.jpg So i have one 2.25" at the top and one 2.5" at the bottom. I guess a 2.4" would fit perfectly  These were bought from GW but bith returned to Spax to rebuild after one leaked for refurb. I guess they fitted the wrong collets when reb...

Springs... 2.5" 2.25" whats the difference

Thanks Denis. Very useful info. I will have to renew my membership to search the archives for that. Looks like 14" will be best.

I will take one off and check the collet size first.

Springs... 2.5" 2.25" whats the difference

Thanks for the replies. I believe the ones i have are uprated. But probably 12 years old now. I will have to get them off and check which collets are fitted. The 2.5 spring will fit over 2.25 i guess. Im pretty sure i asked for standard ones. Would it be very obvious if a 2.5 was fitted to 2.25 coll...

I think you can leave the front bumper. you will need to remove parts 12/14/17 you may be able to leave part 14 especially if you are not removing the radiator/hoses but you will have to remove bolts 19 and 18 and bolts that attach 12 to 14. you can access 18 without removing the headlights but you ...

Hi all I seem to have one saggy front spring on my se6a and need to replace both. I have relatively new Spax on standard springs. what is my best option for replacements ? I think the spax from GW take 2.25 and 2.5"? what difference does it make to use one over the other ? why do some use helper spr...

ANTI ROLL BAR MOUNTING BRACKET

did you try to remove the lower shock absorber bracket without removing the shock absorber with it ? I think it is possible on one side and yes it is very tight. The workshop manual recommends removing the bottom bracket with the shock absorber attached.

I purchased a wheel bearing that came with the thicker felt oil seal. It made the diske sit out further than it should and i had to revert to the old ones. Bearing were the same. Im not sure if there were different ones but i do recall a thread on this topic before. They may off something other than...

The casting nubmer are the same on all of them. The thread for the trunnion makes tgem handed. I good way to check if they are not bent is to fit them to a trrunnion and rotate left and right with the handle of a socket wrench in the top ball joint hole. While rotating there should be no movement of...
