Wanted - SE6

That makes far more sense. So there were only 3900 built and as Roger said the attrition rate could have been quite high so maybe 2000 left on and off the road would be an educated guess ? Of course we can never know the exact figure .

Wanted - SE6

Are you specifically looking for an SE6, or do you mean 6 series? There are only a few hundred SE6 or 6b against several thousand 6a. Your budget is reasonable but a car with good original paint is going to be at the top end I imagine. Jim , Are there several thousand 6a left ? Are the club figures...

V6 essex timing gear

I changed my Fibre gear for a Burton Steel one . The noise on start up was awful. It whined like a turbo . I found the noise to be unacceptable and changed back to the Fibre gear. , yes a decision I may come to regret 🙏.

Tyres

Hi , Am I right in thinking the width of the Wolfrace wheel on a 1979 6a is 5 1/2 J . If so I have 205 x70 x 14 tyres that are too wide for the rim according to the excellent chart that Jim posted .?

Hi Mickp, I have just looked at your project tab and imho it is one of the clearest explanations of fitting relays for the uninitiated in car electrics. Others have come very close but I think you have nailed it . I am off to the garage now to make a start . Am I right in thinking the images have be...

6a tyre size

My utmost apologies. I should have said 195/70/R14 . I totally agree 175 would be too narrow. Sorry about that.

Confused now, is it better to fit 185/80/14 rather than 195/70 14 ?
