I dont think the idle jets would be the problem because as soon as you press the pedal and the butterfly starts to move, even just a small amount, the idle jets cease to play any part in the fuelling as by then the main jets will be providing the fuel. Although a diode will have resistance etc, its primary function is to only allow current to flow in one direction. The important parameters are breakdown voltage and current handling.

It will fit, but you may need to turn the Idle Control Valve around. Then jer, jer, jiggle it a bit. Try with the tyre deflated initially.

Yes, two ways of doing it. Stuff the cylinder full of string and turn the engine to compress the string. The other way is using an air feed adapter into the plug hole.

Ah, possibly I have learnt something! I go for the tiny square icon to the left of the thread title. It's quite easy to miss it and trigger the profile to pop up. I didn't realise that the spinning or not icon did the same.
