Remove camshaft engine in car?

Inlet manifold (dizzy should always come out if you’re removing this), cross brace and front cover I think?

Rear hubs/bearings?

210 Nm is the front hub, the rear is 165Nm. Torque figures here in the FAQ section. That's interesting -165Nm is only 122 ft/lbs. It was a long time ago when I did mine (2005) and I would have used the figure from the "red book", and I thought it was more like the figure Craig mentions? yes, 203-24...

Rear hubs/bearings?

You need to take the wheel off and check the driveshaft nut hasn’t come loose (should be split pinned, so unlikely), then the 4 bolts that hold the hub onto the trailing arm (from the inboard side).

Very unusual for the bearings to go - check that the whole hub isn’t loose on the trailing arm (or the wheel nuts aren’t loose :D )!

Jim, silly question, where's the side panel?
by your LH knee on a RHD car - just remembered that it’s not a quick job on a 6 series like it is on a 5a though!

Take the side panel off to see if the lever is actually moving a heater flap first. The only other thing I can think of, is that the matrix has been over pressurised and blown out the separator plate, so the hot coolant is going in and straight out without going through the matrix?

I probably have s/h resistors - don’t have a good spare motor unfortunately.

I have dedicated blue 16/32A Commando sockets for the compressor, tyre machine and welder, you could wire them in 4mm - and run a separate 2.5mm ring main for household 3 pin sockets and lighting?

Is the motor seized or has the loom just chafed and shorted - if the latter, a rewire should work and I doubt there’s anything wrong with the resistor?

RPW had new motors for sale a while ago (not cheap but I don’t know of any other sources)?
