3rd gear position back of rod catching side of underbody

I went back & used the alignment method with the gear lever arms pinned in the neutral position. I had to put a bend in the 3rd & 4th gear rod & adjust the length to provided enough clearance from the bodywork. I am not sure why I had to do this but it is now working ok. Thank you all for your help....

On the side cover diagram, can anyone explain where the ball bearing number 20 locates?
Also does the pin number 16 pass through the spring in between the x2 ball bearings?
Thank you for your help.

Timing gear change Cologne 2.8

Is the procedures for changing the timing gears on the Cologne 2.8 the same as on the Essex engine? Do I need to completely remove the sump? Should the crankshaft pulley detach the same way as on the Essex as I am having a nightmare to remove mine. I have searched the forums but have been unable to ...

Dashboard switch bulb Spring clips attachments.

Has anyone came up with a better way of attaching the electrical dashboard switches light bulb holders, instead of using the spring clips which sit on the top of the switches behind the dash centre panel?
Thank you for your help.

Chrome Lucas dash warning light cluster

I am looking for a chrome finish Lucas light cluster for my GTC, are they available in this country to buy?
there are a few for sale on E-bay from the USA, postage is expensive and I guess I would have to pay import tax also.
Thank you for your help.

Re: Heater blowers blowing fuse when driving.

I will carry out the checks as suggested thank you.
I have noticed that when I move the blower supply wires on the passenger side fan, the drivers side fan picks up speed.
Also the heat sink on the driver side blower is getting very hot, the passenger side stays cold?
Thank you for your help.

Heater blowers blowing fuse when driving.

The heater blowers work fine in the garage, but when I return from a drive the 15 amp fuse has blown. I can not find any chaffed wires. The blowers run perfectly at both speeds have left running for over 30 mins without the engine running.
Any ideas on how I can track the fault.
Thank you.

Is it possible to confirm the otter switch operating temperature range for a 2.8 GTC. The optimum switching on and off range.
Thank you.
