Historic class issues

If it was 40 years old this year i understand you can't change to historic class till next year ..It will be mot exempt but not tax exempt..At the correct time i posted a v5 to dvla and they sent it back after a week or so.

Sounds better, what i want is the same diameter on the new tyres as the origional spec 14"" tyre as supplied when new

Ok thanks i assumed they probably would...Tyre size interesting thanks Roger not got round to looking yet i just guessed that 70's were available in 15" ?

Ebay north Devon shot blasted painted new centres £216 + £66 shipping....£80 nuts..£250 tyres..expensive exercise but i like them 😊

Not sure about having to enlarge the wheel holes have not tried them on yet...the scimitar steel wheel nuts are too big...its only that i want the twintub wheel centres on otherwise any 1/2 nut would do...mock up picture

I want to use the TR centres which are held on by the nut which has a plastic washer in a groove. The TR nuts are 7/16 unf so i need Bill to make some with a 1/2 unf thread...

150 psi is normal on a good engine..compression test won't show up any inlet manifold leak...i had poor running at idle and low speed on my 5a. After it started leaking water into the sump i found the inlet manifold was not seated correctly...this may not be related to your problem but if you skim t...

After you had the heads skimmed how was the fit of the inlet manifold before you tighened up the bolts...Also this may be a problem some head gaskets leave a bit sticking out which needs trimming off or the inlet wont seal

Looking at the operating lever i noticed it had flimsy rivets which were going to break at some point
