stone mesh bumper thingy 6a

Thanks mark. Yes running clockwise and fan turning right way now. It must have been replaced or off in the past and put on back to front. All good now. Once paint dried will go back together. Cheers

stone mesh bumper thingy 6a

Last post on this. But may be of use to others at some point. I removed the set screw and fan blade. It turns out that the blade is reversible. The motor shaft has two dimples for the set screw to tighten into depending which way the fan is mounted. The fan has direction moulded on both sides. So qu...

So reversing the wiring isn’t the answer and I should take it off do you think? And leave the wiring alone? Damn and I thought it was sorted. :D

stone mesh bumper thingy 6a

Hi Terry. Yes it spins the right way when swapped over. I was just unsure if I would damage the motor. That’s a nice fix. I have taken the motor out as a good excuse to clean things up a bit. The fan has obviously running the wrong direction as witnessed by the blade damage. That should certainly he...

By the way there are two wires coming out of the motor. Green and a black. The green has an earthing terminal on. And was earthed. The black goes to power. Surely it should be the other way round? Then may spin the right way👍

stone mesh bumper thingy 6a

Hi Phil, terry Well, the blades do have wood jeffreys kirkburton cast in them. So they look right. It also has a clockwise directional arrow cast But Terry is right. When powered up the fan spins anti clockwise! Against the arrow. Can I just swap the wires over to make it spin the right way? Or am I ...

Hazard lights not working 6a

Thank you so much Jim. I would like to use the right stuff if I can. Some wiring doesn’t matter too much as it’s obvious. This really isn’t.

Just let me know how much for the cable and postage.

Fabulous service, ian

Hazard lights not working 6a

So took a wire from other side of hazard flasher unit and stuck it into the correct terminal on the back of the hazard switch with it all plugged together and voila. It works. So a break in the wire from hazard flasher to switch. No chance of finding that as it all disappears into a tapped up black ...

Hazard lights not working 6a

Correct and right Phil. When I join/link the two wires from the hazard flasher unit as you said there is power going into the cable but no power reaching the switch terminals. It’s not the original cable as it is green and yellow. I will try to trace it through the Rats nest and see what is happenin...

So. Switch is out 👍. There is power from the fuse23/4 when ignition is switched on. Good. Continuity across the two top pins of the switch when in the off position. Good. As this will power the indicators which work fine. When hazard switch is operated the top two pins are no longer showing continui...

Hazard lights not working 6a

Good morning Made some time today. Fuse ok and power both sides of the holder when fuse in place. So all good there. Power on the purple /green when the hazard switch is on or off. Linked out the flasher unit and no lights on at all. So I assume I am now looking at the power to the switch or the swi...
