Those Edelbrocks look good value. Did you custom make your own inlet manifold?

I do like the idea of triple Webers - they look superb - but the price is a bit high and are the stories that they are nightmare to keep in tune true? Is a Holley a more practical option? I've never fitted forced induction so feel a bit out of my depth with that. And I fancy this as a project for my...

OK, those numbers kind of match where I was hoping. There was a post on Pistonheads talking about £15k of mods that worried me a little!

D's or O's

Thanks for the tips. But every time somebody makes a comment I can feel the budget creeping up by £500!!

Out of interest, what's everyone's thoughts on the cost to get to:

180bhp
200bhp
220bhp
240bhp

I'll make sure I'm sitting down before I look at the answers!

D's or O's

I had a Scimmy Coupe back in the '80s that i did a lot to - overbored, powermax pistons, Burton "fast road" cam (can't remember which one), initially heads I ported myself then upgraded to Vulcan Stage 3 (didn't really seem that much better), DFI5, K&N, stainless manifolds and a Bosch non-vacuum dis...

So, taking all that on board, if you're going for a high revving unit then the lower rpm improvements with the D won't matter too much and if you're going to heavily port it (I have a dremmel and a lot of spare time ...) then there's not much to be gained by changing for the D ports? I'm keen to kno...

D's or O's

When Ford upgraded the cylinder heads from the O shaped ports to the D shaped ports, did it make much difference to the flow?

I've got an early engine I'm about to do up (probably the subject of another thread...) and I'm debating whether to port the existing O heads or get some D ones.

Alternative Coupé register ;-)

SML 500F moved to Shepton Mallet in 2018 and is now (slowly) being restored to it's former rally spec glory. :D

You'd have to be very brave.

If you want to hear from people having a worse day than you Google Motorhub Keighley reviews.

Coupe steering wheel centre

A long shot I know but does anyone have a spare steering wheel centre for a coupe? You know the thing, black, few inches in diameter with a scimitar blade in the centre.

Shere Hill Climb 1 Sept 2019

I'm entered with a Fireblade engined Caterham but (sorry Graham914 if you're reading this ...) there's probably a 90% chance a friends non-scimmy entry won't be ready in time so our coupe will be a stand in. As it did last year 2 days after we bought it! We're numbers 183 and 196.
