does the club get a discount on the NEC resto show tickets?

Thanks David. £18.50 so not bad, annoying they then slap a £1.95 fee on top to print it yourself! I think I'll be going Sunday, but not decided yet.

Webasto sunroof for SE6a

The Webasto on our SE6 was leaking and the mechanism rusted. Although new parts are available It was going to be too expensive, 5-600 quid. I did look at Mini and Peugeot electric glass roofs but they weren't big enough to fit the Webasto hole. In the end I bought another non-sunroof car and used it...

Lockheed clutch master cylinder operation

The vacuum bleeder worked well but the pedal still wasn't generating any pressure. I took the slave off and it looked ok from the outside but inside was a right state. So I gave up on it and bought the master and slave off Jimscim. It's arrived and looks good so I'll have a go at fitting it this wee...

Lockheed clutch master cylinder operation

Hi All, I tried blowing some air though it and there is definitely some coming through the smaller hole in the he pedal up position (the recuperation hole is between the two seals). I filled it up with BF and left it on the bench and it slowly drained through albeit very slowly. And I think that is ...

Lockheed clutch master cylinder operation

Thank you for your input everyone, I haven't had chance to investigate further and do some tests but will do this weekend and keep you posted. :D

I think the compensator/recuperation hole must be blocked. I am going to have to get the compressor out !

Lockheed clutch master cylinder operation

Hi, Thank you for posting the picture. I think the way a master cylinder works is that between the reservoir and the cylinder there are two holes, a main hole that in the resting position is between seals 6 and 10 (from the diagram). There is a compensator hole that sits above the spring. I think th...

Lockheed clutch master cylinder operation

Hi Trevor,

Yes the operation is ok. Even on the bench it isn't pumping any fluid.

A Reliant master cylinder is very expensive however there are MGB ones available for about £60, they look the same but I guess it is the stroke that is important, or is it the slave that controls that ?

Lockheed clutch master cylinder operation

Hi All, Help ! I am still struggling with this clutch master cylinder. I eventually got the correct seals, turns out it is an Austin Ambassador part. I've put in the new seals and cleaned it all up and it is exactly the same, it doesn't pump through any fluid. I have the clutch pipe removed and the ...

Glad someone is awake! I still have Manflu so not thinking straight. So, I may have a secondhand one still connected to its slave with a braided pipe. As for new, I need to check...
A good second hand one would be ok.

Thanks

It depends on the condition of the bore. No point putting new seals into a worn bore, unless getting it re-sleeved. If you get stuck, I stock new master cylinders for 6a onwards.
Hi Andy, how much is a new one please?

Lockheed clutch master cylinder operation

Hi, Can anyone help! My sons SE6a had a softish clutch pedal so we decided to bleed it. All started fine then I could see air coming down the red pipe from the master. We'd been topping up the reservoir so it wasn't low fluid. And fluid wasn't coming out by the pushrod. Eventually pressing the pedal...

SE6A rear axle - £30

Complete rear axle out of a 1980 auto car.

Needs a good clean up. No issues with it as far as I know.
