Latest job in the workshop, chassis repairs

That's a good job, mine are similar but assumed the body has to come off because of the heat issues, I've only got Arc welder, dunno if that's hotter than Mig, It seems daft to have that outrigger exposed right behind the front wheel, my 6a has SS mud flaps, was thinking of enlarging these to cover ...

6a Cooling Hoses

Thanks Ian, I have looked at their stuff but it's an old redundant set I'm after until I win the lottery, can't buy a new set just to use as a pattern, unless they by chance do the same colour im after, which isn't really "classic" style
Thanks tho

6a Cooling Hoses

Hello all
Has anyone got a cheap old, unused, removed, leaky or unwanted 6a Cooling hoses I can use as a pattern to get some new colour coded silicone hoses (from a supplier who does not recognize what a Scimitar is)
I'd be mucho grateful

What cars did you see today? (Non-Scimitar)

drove earlier less than 1/4 mile and saw 2 no V reg MG BGTs separately, one white, one black, how weird is that...
Question.... what will happen to all the classic cars and their owners when petrol engines are banned from the roads ??? (Hope this hasn't been mentioned in the last 350 odd pages)

Ignition switch

Thanks fella, like a lot of people I find auto electrics hard to understand, I would air on the side of caution and uprate the size rather than downrate and save weight elsewhere, That white & red wire measures at over 2.5mm core on mine and I will do some heat shrink stuff over them all too.. They ...

Ignition switch

Does anyone know the correct size of the wires to the ignition, like the red & white one that goes to the starter, i.e. The amp &/or mm size, mine is all crumbling down by the starter
(Can't make head or tail of the wiring diagrams in book)
Thanks

SE6a Circuits?

That's exactly what's happened to mine, inner main beam lights stopped working, then it melted the main switch, is there any merit in using a higher rated wire when replacing them, as a upgrade? I know it won't solve that particular problem but at least may reduce one weak link

Timing wheel - is this normal

The end of my camshaft was a bit recessed after fitting and I did heat the crank gear a bit before fitting, haven't run it yet, measured and checked for interference carefully and seems good, Surely if the cam gear was the wrong way round you wouldn't see the alignment dots, which incidentally I fou...

Yeh I figured as much, maybe with a vacuum pack thingy, yeh the Vinylkote would be a lot less of a pain, depends if the texture matches, thanks
