Does Run Fast 351 Eventually!

Thanks fer that Chris, there was evidence of a significant accident which has caused the engine to end up inches further back than normal. This brought the exhaust manifolds close to the front of the tunnel, burning the grp which was repaired using your method. The bottom pic of the debris has a gur...

Does Run Fast 351 Eventually!

So my grp instructors are still in solitary confinement (don't know what they've been up to!) so nobody's here to tell me I've done it wrong! There's delamination on the repair done to the underside of the chin which I couldn't get to so I got the grp "gas axe" to it (multi tool) then started on san...

Se5a air intake

I have an idea that they draw air from the door gaps and hinge holes too?

Yep, the lift is a boon! Another 8 hours using hammer & chisel, electric file and orbital to attack the last square foot of filler, heck it were well 'ard! Still, it revealed another crack so no time wasted. I'll concentrate on prepping for the repairs now.

Does Run Fast 351 Eventually!

Bleddy nora, I'm wishing I'd put this sandin' lark out to contract! I started at the front offside corner and proceeded clockwise, found several more patches of filler to remove. The worst is under the front where there's a full 5mm right across hiding a few large cracks. I'm having to use an electr...

Is that the footwell ?!
Must have carried some heavy passengers
This has certainly had a life, the footwell seems to have been impacted from underneath.

Well I thought I'd finished but have found several large areas of filler under a single coat of red! Started sanding them off down to grp, those on the boot are now so thin they are transparent!
Made some metal tags to bridge the cracks.

SE8 splitting overdrive from gearbox

There's two internally splined fittings that the g/box tailshaft goes through. They are a right pain to get both lined up!

Fuel pump - new mechanical or electric?

Fitted a new mechanical pump but no improvement! Peters suggestion is perfect so I'm retro-fitting it.

Fuel pump - new mechanical or electric?

Here's my 2 penneth, my 5a does the same, the longer it stands the more cranking. The warmer the engine when shut down, the more cranking. I put it down to the faster rate and lower temperature at which modern fuels evaporate. If I park nose down then it starts sooner than on the level. Don't know i...

Does Run Fast 351 Eventually!

Just finished sanding the body exterior and cleaning the interior of old adhesive, I've roughened the surface for the new carpet glue to key to and started degreasing the under side. I've painted the wheel arches and boot interior as a break from sanding!
