1979 Scimitar SE6A in daily use

It’s been quite a hiatus, but I’m delighted to say that the Scimitar is back in my ownership and has been for a month or so. I’ve not done a lot with it in recent weeeks as I’ve been very busy, but I’m planning to do a few bits over the winter and also, hope to start using it regularly again! Hope t...

It's Yellow

:D :D , Hey Frazer, hows you doing? I finally fired up the engine about three weeks ago and I was quite impressed as there were no big rumbles or clattering after languishing for well over a year or so. Back working at it again but it's been a lazy ish week as far as the car is concerned, maybe doi...

It's Yellow

Looks like you're making brilliant progress with it, and it's fantastic to see your progress with the car! The passenger window never worked in my ownership as I never got round to it, sadly!
Keep up the good work! Following this with interest! 8)

1979 SE6A manual overdrive for sale

With great reluctance, it really is time for my Scimitar to go! I've had an amazing time with it over the years but, unfortunately as I now work over 200 miles from where I keep the car, it simply isn't practical to keep it. This is exemplified by the sheer fact that it's done under 500 miles in the...

Re: What's your car history?

Been buying cars for around 7 years now, having passed my test in 2009. Please note that the sheer quantity of Rover 75s is because I used to get them very cheap, and was able to run them and sell them for a profit very easily. 1967 Rover 2000 Automatic: First car, completely unreliable, but still h...

Re: Graham Walker Scimitars

I think it's important to promote the cars to everyone. No matter what, if someone else shows an interest in the cars, it can only be a good thing as it most likely ensures the survival of another example. Personally, I have classic cars because I enjoy using them regularly for the purpose intended....

Re: Oaksey's XJ6

Absolutely beautiful car. I've a major hankering after a Series 1 XJ, and yours is gorgeous. Alas, as a very poor man, I won't be buying one for a long time. Can't wait to see more photos!

Re: I have discovered a new car !

I've always thought these look very much like a best-of 50s sports car bits. I really like them, but don't think I could stomach the purchase price. Lovely things though! :)

Re: How pretty is this!!!!

I think it's a lovely idea, but the reality is that it doesn't really look quite right. I think I'd rather just run a cheap DB7 and have a massive amount of spare cash to continue enjoying it with. Unfortunately it's just a Jaguar XKR with some very expensive bodywork.

Re: The British Racing Beige 5a (Christine)

My yellow 6A sporadically puts the flashing fuel light on, and the fuel gauge completely drops. However, once the car warms up, it always reappears. I've never got to the bottom of it!

Hope you get it sorted, soon, Luke! :D

Re: Cobrascim's SE6A 22 year(so far) project.

Just looked through this thread! Sounds like a fantastic car, and great to hear you are able to use it a great deal. I'm just in Dumfries and Galloway, so it's good to hear of another owner, not too far away!
