I've not had any contact with Peter since I sold the coupe, so he may still be an owner.

By a strange coincidence we have an updated photo of GBG 540E, chassis 0528. Last seen on page 56 (with reg no KOV 3F - Chris Gow), this car has a long and complicated history, starting as CCM 1C in the hands of Mike McCartney (McGear). It was dark green and appeared in the film Magical Mystery Tou...

Here's the man himself in the passenger seat. Great photo by Robert Clayson.

Does anyone know if Chris Gow is still around ? Chris is certainly still around, I saw him, quite by chance, in September 2018 at the Shere Hill Climb, where he joined me for a run up the hill in my Abarth 124 Spider. I don't think he has had a Scimitar for many years now. He had arrived in an MX5,...

SS1 in the USA?

Thanks for the info guys. I'm intrigued, Phil, that someone may have imported the 1300, that you say was last seen in Atlanta.

SS1 in the USA?

Bit of a longshot... I've been asked by an Instagram contact in the USA, whether there may be an SS1 on their side of the pond. They're running a 'Wedge Class' in a Concours d'Elegance next year and would very much like an SS1 entry. Not sure where in the States this would be. I doubt any SS1's have...

Twin Weber DCNF carbs in the RWD layout. Does it ever work?

I think Jeff Craske was one who struggled with them back in the 90's? Well remembered Phil! If I had my time again I wouldn't bother! At places like Goodwood with fast flowing bends the DCNF set up showed improvements over the standard arrangement, but anywhere with slow corners it would be slow to...

Jeff CAN 172D Now on eBay. I just wish I had a spare garage and enough cash to purchase it and get it rebuilt... loved the car when I owned it! Much of the improvements such as the uprated cam/gas flowed head (done by Robin Rew), respray (carried out in 1983) and the addition of chrome wires, were ...

Still haven't found that, but I have come up with an enormous amount of new (old) data which I haven't yet had time to collate. For example, among members joining the RSSOC in 1979 are a few well-known names, several well-known cars and a few new ones ... CAN 172D … J Stanbury, Salcombe Chris, John...

Shere Hill Climb 1 Sept 2019

Well the weather was great, which ensured a good turnout of spectators, with around 200 participants taking to the hill over three runs. There is always a very eclectic mix of cars, with everything from Ferraris and Bentleys to Fords and Minis, with just about everything you think of in between, spa...

Fingers crossed you get in with the Coupe. It would be great if 3 Scimitars are present.

I've got an entry with my SS1 (4th time of trying, although my Abarth 124 Spider has been accepted for the last two) and I believe there is a GTC entered. Can't see your Coupe on the entry list, or are you just attending?
