Correction...numbers should read 218628 and 218629 after further cleaning. Roger.ref your last I have been used to the Austin 7 part numbers being on most parts so assumed it was true with the Reliant. And they do bear such a similarity to "part numbers" quoted in the spares list. (After all they ar...

Top wishbone - fulcrum pin upper and anti roll bar link

Does anyone know:-
Is the Reliant Scimitar SE6 onwards fulcrum pin upper in fact the same as the Triumph TR6 one?
Would the Triumph TR GT6 anti roll bar link fit the GTE 6 and GTC. (Note not the TR6 which only seems to be 90 deg and not 2 of 90 deg)

just curious.

6a Front Suspension - back to standard height?!

Unfortunately yet another example of why not to trust your local garage unless you are certain they understand your car or have been given precise instructions on "how and what to do". They should have consulted you on seeing the different trunnions not just ploughed on. I once had a "discussion" wi...

Ah so SUBSTANTIALLY. Are the sealed beam and halogen that substantially different? (only two lights being compared here)?

"My rear motor also is hopelessly damaged."

So what exactly is "hopelessly damaged" in it?

Timing

I use Castrol Valvemaster Plus which has an octane booster that boosts the unleaded 95 to the 97 that our engines were designed for so no need to re-set timing..ie no need to retard to prevent pinking. I buy it by the 12 box load.....that way one bottle comes free. It is now called CLASSIC Valvmaste...

I don't remember ever seeing anything that requires brightness of headlights to be the same.......you can look up the detailed regulations on line.

An eBay seller to avoid!

You can claim via PayPal. I did successfully very recently after at first claiming via ebay......I just thought it quicker and easier via PP......the ebay claim was just terminated "as you have claimed via PP". Return postage paid for = great, but in my case not applicable as item won was not even s...

Leaky CV

There's something black and sticky coming from the CV joint in the GTC's prop shaft. Grease I guess, so: should it come out, how can I stop it, and will it be linked to the slight clonk when I reverse? Alex. There was a very good article somewhere on the forum by someone who did a CV overhaul...mad...

GTC upper ball joint

Peter and Roger....thanks for the references.....another page added to the spares list files.

I have just found a new set of ball joints (I thought I had some in the spares shelf) BUT they are the type without grease nipples.....they are in a box with GW stickers.......HuH.....not impressed.
