Light throttle jerking

Just checked and they were 2 turns out which to me points to it being lean. I have a mix of jets though,2 65s and 2 50s so I will get the other 65s and see how it goes. I didn't get a printout of the afr but did get a power/torque printout which shows quite a dip in the torque at 2500ish. I am runni...

Light throttle jerking

He put 145 mains in[originally I had 155s].
My idles were 50s.
It has two DGMS carbs fitted so the jetting might be a bit unusual.

Light throttle jerking

I took my se5 to a rolling road on Friday to set up the jetting and in an attempt to cure jerking on light throttle. He set up the main jets as it was too rich at the top end,but a little lean at the low rpm end. He didn't have the idle jets for my carb so he recommended 65 idles[2x DGMS carbs]. Do ...

Barn find SE5a in County Meath, Ireland

It's a 5a not a 5 so it can't be a 1970 model.

Correct Valve Clearances SE6A

I use the exhaust opening/inlet closing technique.Seem to get more accurate setting doing it that way.
Probably best to look it up.
You set them one cylinder at a time.
If you do it in the firing order [142536]it doesn't take long.

SE5 Watts linkage arm

I think the 5 4HA links are the same as the 5a,so they will be fine as mine has the 4HA axle.

Girling Mk2b powerstop parts

Managed to order the valves from ebay.
I fitted a Lockheed type servo but the brake feel was not as good as with the original Girling.

SE5a rebuild/ rolling restoration - 2 questions

I chopped the end off a 1/2" extension and used an open ended spanner to undo the diff plug.
Easier than removing the Watts linkage arm.

Noise after changing timing wheel

Which type of front cover do you have?
I have heard the early type can foul the later type wheel.
Although I didn't have that problem myself.
