The car has been at mechanics premises for a week already and needs to be moved pretty quick....and I have something going on with the car next weekend. Cheesed off but i'll get over it as soon as it gets through it's M...

Royal Egham show

Hoping their might be another Scim at this event. Good day out. Classic and Vintage cars are the main theme but loads of other stuff going on for the missus to absorb herself in like the agricultural tents and psychic stalls etc etc. Nice part of the show is that all the cars on display do a circuit...

Re: Carb refurb

Can't help with anything in West London but I do have a spare Weber if you are looking for a new one? After some deliberation I went for a new one from Gower & Lee which comes with the manual choke conversion. All pretty easy to fit and then she just needs fine tuning with the idle and mixture. Los...

Fuel Gauge SS1

Want to pick your brains fellow members. Recently done a lot of work on car which has included removing the gearbox a couple times to access the sump gasket and change the oil pump. Anyway.... since then, the fuel gauge shows full all the time. Not a crisis but annoying. I may have inadvertently mov...

Re: sump gasket ss1 1600 cvh

I tried to phone you earlier Philip (left a message). Know now that there are probably more bolts behind the engine plate. Gonna sleep on it tonight and see how I feel in the morning.

Re: sump gasket ss1 1600 cvh

Thanks Roger. The original gasket is at least intact and time is limited this weekend. I'm tempted just to pack it all out with gasket sealant and tighten her back up again which seems the likely option. The reason why I started doing this job was through the process of elimination to cure dripping ...

sump gasket ss1 1600 cvh

Hi guys, I am in the middle of attempting to change the sump gasket on my 1600 cvh engined SS1. I have removed all 16 bolts which included removing the starter to get to two of them, and have managed to free up the front of the sump. I can't get the back clear though and it won't budge. Am I missing...

Basingstoke Festival of Transport

I intend going to the Basingstoke Festival Of Transport on Sunday 12th May. Not been before but they expect roughly 900 vehicles to attend which will include 32 club stands according to the information they have posted up. Anyone else thinking of attending this show? Hope to be there with my SS1 an...
