Spark Plugs What are you guys using in the Essex V6 ?

Steve, I would definitely check those bp5es ones against the criteria to look for in a possible fake plug. See my post of 31 Aug

Se5 Project

It might be useful for you to look up the project restoration of my 5. " SAR restoration- my old girl" that I went into in great detail about 7/8 years ago. You'll see all the problems I had to deal with, all the helpful advice I had from this forum (great people) and all the daft questions (no daft...

Fake NGK plugs

This is not necessarily related to the misfire I had with my 5, SAR, but As part of my elimination of the issues I did some research and thought it might be interesting to read as a subject in its own right. This is all available on the net after searching fake plugs. Many of you will probably know ...

Not particularly wonky, but the 'S' at the end is a different size and font to the rest. Is that a clue??

SAR Massive irregular misfire

Just to round off this topic I thought I'd update everyone (whose interested :D ) on the results of the rolling road diagnosis as far as I understand it. (Please be tolerant of me, I'm not the expert   ) The car has not been running as well as she used to before this saga began despite ev...

Body to chassis alignment

They all do that Sir  Well mine is the same. Not possible as far as I could see to shift the body across even a small amount as the underside of the GRP body sits smack against the chassis rails. Body moulding is clearly not symmetrical. Don’t worry about it only you will notice it and after a...

SAR Massive irregular misfire

Hi Geoff Have you got to the bottom of misfiring now? Cheers Phil Erm ...I'm not 100% sure Phil. There's nothing that hasn't been replaced and the car starts after a few hiccups (that's not usual) but then revs normally. I run it around the block a few times and everything is mostly fine,( but we'v...

So, from what I read above, the TR kit would fit my 5, SAR, directly with no extra fiddling? Chassis no. is 451236

SAR Massive irregular misfire

Well I've fitted the distributor sent to me by Adam (thanks), but this time I've kept the points that it came with rather than refit the Accuspark for the time being. Started right away and only needed a couple of degrees adjustment using the strobe to get it idling nicely and revving well. Tried it...

Adam that is a very kind offer thank you. I'll let you know tomorrow if I need it. I'm about to take mine out to check if there's an issue. It's the only thing left that hasn't been replaced.
