Fuel leaking through top of carb

Float or needle valve not working - sticking and not cutting the fuel off - wrong pressure from the pump ( too high ) have you done any work on the pump or fitted a new one - wrong type perhaps. Cheers Peter, the top was removed to replace the gasket there was no other work done on it, is there any...

Weber 38 DGMS query

Folks, I am in the process of replacing my weber carb, the one on my Reliant SE5a is the 38 DGAS, can I replace this with the 38 DGMS ? There appears to be 2 fuel inlets on the 38 DGMS compared to 1 on my 38 DGAS. Many thanks.

Accelerator issue

As I can’t see the vacuum takeoff for the C3 I’ll assume it’s got the BW35 in which case the “kickdown” (actually load sensing) cable needs to be carefully adjusted. I think the procedure is in the handbook or manual? Looks like a 5a judging by the water takeoff? Cheers Phil yes it has the BW35, I ...

Thanks Jeff, is it possible to add a picture from the other angle when you get a chance? My one is set up wrong, not surprising the accelerator was not operating

Another thing to check is fuel filters. As Paul says above, a simple check to see what comes out. Do you have an in-line filter ? A clear one so you can actually see what the flows like. The micro filter in the carb will need cleaning as well if the cars been stood ages...this all makes a differenc...

Electronic ignition query

Before you start the car why not lift the lid off the air filter, pump the throttle and see if you have fuel ? if you have, then that leaves more money in the budget for a decent ignition upgrade and even a carb rebuild kit. Paul Cheers Paul, there is a k&n filter on the weber carb, I have taken th...

If the car starts ok when warm, perhaps the choke needs adjusting?
Ian
The weber carb is on my car, this was taken off my the previous owner and the manual choke is out of adjustment, I certainly do not think it was put back the way is should have been.

Electronic ignition will not improve the starting. It is likely to be a deteriorated fuel pump assuming the ignition components are in good order. An electric fuel pump is a good mod.
Thanks, my one has the mechanical fuel pump.
