Door alignment

Did consider that Gavin but didn’t know how easy it would be to put back together. Have you still got FLY by the way? Looking back through my pictures, I did one side through the footwell blower hole, and the other I cut out the inner wheel arch It would have been ok just replacing the nuts and bol...

Haven’t checked mine but I didn’t see any way to get to them from the wheel arch. I took the heater out of the side of the footwell but couldn’t work a way out to get in there either. RX8 gearbox into 5a

Have you checked the output shaft angle versus axle angle? Just from measurements, I make it a bit less than 1” but that’s only theoretical. The SE5 engine mount I’ve mocked up is about 1” though. Could always space that crossmember down from the chassis a few mm. Or try a Capri cross member which ...

SE5a bump stops

I fitted the newer type to the older brackets a few years ago, still on there now

But it looks like you don't have the mounting plates either so it might be a bit more difficult !

Gas using large Hobbyweld 5 bottles - I had a BOC account for many years but it was getting very expensive for the amount I used

Is a new earth clamp for the welder on the shopping list?

Nice work though, Gavin!
Thanks
My welder is over 25 years old and the clamp has been missing for at least 20, so no need to change it now :D

I'm not sure when I'll next be doing a historic rally (or any rally) but I have been getting on with fitting a hydraulic handbrake, together with new rear shoes To meet the new regs, the hydraulic cylinder needs to be actuated by the standard handbrake as that is how it would have been done in the 7...

What size brake unions?

Careful - you might find some stuff NPT depending on where it’s originated from..like the US of A. Wilwood M/C seem to be NPT, but UNF fittings do work (and seal correctly) I have these on my bias pedal box and used std UNF brake pipe fittings and flares I think it works as the flared end of the pi...
