Re: My Facebook profile

Andy. I don't use Facebook but my wifes account shows pages by you and Richard with a sarcastic comment by an individual that is new to me. Is that the issue?

For what its worth, I have 2 front wings sat in my garden that you can have. Silver but at least you can get then repainted. Good cars need saving.

Re: Insurance

I found Admiral multi car policy expensive. At the time I found plenty of insurers willing to cover my wife's car for under £200 but Admiral wanted more than £400. When I declined adding her car to the policy they immediately took away the discount we had on the other 2 cars. Not really a good way t...

Re: What Daily Car/MPV?

I'm not a fan of Fords but I drove a C-Max across Europe completing 2700 miles and it was impressive. 6 speed manual but I am sure they do an auto?

By the way. Do not buy French.

Re: The Budget. VED

So as i read it my 4 cars are stuck at the current level of VED and only the GTE will drop out when it becomes 40 years old. It seems fairer to me to tax everyone at the same level at last but I'm miffed at paying £80 per month to keep the fleet legal. As usual there are winners and losers at every ...

Re: Modern cars don't rust, do they?

I called it a day on my second Discovery today - the rear chassis had rotted and it was only 12 years old. ALJ and VLN had much less rust, but I suppose they had been off the road more than they had been on it. Repair options were there but not appealing and I thought 180K on the original engine, g...

Re: Modern cars don't rust, do they?

I've just had 4 wings, bonnet and boot off a 53 plate Rover 75. Not a spot of rust on any panel. Even the inner panels were clean and that's a 12 year old car with 121k on the clock. Lucky maybe or Rover actually got the quality right on their last hurrah?

Re: 185/14 tyres, where do you get yours?

I've given up trying to get 185/80 tyres. Plenty of choice at 195/70 and recently put 4 new ones on the SE6a. 2 Michelins on the front and 2 Triangle on the rear. I have also decided to stop buying part worn tyres simply for safety reasons. All 4 cars get new boots now. AJL has just got 4 Vredestein...

Re: Does YFH 404H still survive?

Thanks for the info.

One further story he told me was the day he bought it. Driving home at about 60mph the Webasto roof came off and smacked the rear hatch glass and broke it. Good start to ownership.
