I don't think mine has a vacuum as it was changed by the the guy who restored it from the ground. Mark - yea I was thinking the same thing so I will redo the pcv system with a 3 port catch can. I'm fairly sure the minimum requirement is dipped headlights when driving . driving on sidelights is not permitted these days. ( source highway code )

Classic Car LEDs - not the cheapest but IMO the best. Done all my car lights apart from indicators with LEDs from them. Don't want to do the indicators as apart from the lamps you need to buy electronic flashers as well or fit resistors. adjustable indicator relay on ebay I paid 99p from china the ...

4 thou on the top tolerance is not a world away. and is down to the accuracy of the measuring bore gauge. filling bigger rings down to fit I doubt you would get it any better although you would be closer to the ten than the twenty so maybe worth it . The heat valve needs to be open and then it will self bleed I have fitted a filler thermostat housing on my se5a I remove the cap before filling up never had any issues with the heater or the choke .I did however remove the choke and used the pipes to heat my vaporiser ( LPG)

Understanding my automatic choke

Reset the choke by pushing the throttle twice and see if it will restart .it sounds like you may have a sticking choke which in time if it does not open will flood the engine and foul the plugs . You opening it manually may have freed it so it's worth trying to start it again.

I have just done mine with (Linda ) sewing a sort of pocket on the front then I fitted an aluminium plate inside drilled it to fit the interior mirror which holds it all in place plus the visors also screw it in place .it's a bit more involved but in pleased with it
