I would start with the earth's on the headlights .put a temporary one in from the battery if this works .it may solve some of the other issues as well

As an aside, it is interesting that many modern engines (my MR2 for example) have non interference valve gear, i.e. if the cam belt breaks valves do not meet pistons, whilst most old engines do! Given it’s a Small Sports, I’m assuming the ones on the front suspension. I think they will eventually pull out but they tend to be a bit reluctant to come out due to the shape of the moulding. A squirt of some lubricant spray might ease their movement? that makes sense now the information bar does...
