Re: Why am I a grammar Nazi?

Your last sentence should read, Or French - maybe that should be a separate thread. Alternatively, Or French, but that should be a separate thread. As both dash and conjunction (but) serve the same purpose within the sentence use of both is incorrect. On the positive side, although starting a sente...

No I haven't been over for a while. I tend to listen around the HF bands when 'indoors is watching her zombie c***p on the idiot's lantern. I can listen on headphones and even operate RTTY if I wish. The remedy is to play practice sessions at 20WPM and only try to get the first character of each word. When fluent, move on to the first two and so on. That is wha...

Re: Why am I a grammar Nazi?

My French is next. I am fluent enough to get my face slapped, but that is about as far as it goes. Just getting by isn't really good enough, so I must put some decent effort in next year. My Morse needs brushing up too. ;-) My French is one sided i.e. I can usually find the words I need to ask for ...

Re: Why am I a grammar Nazi?

You have made it clear that the subject doesn't interest you and I'm sure that you have interests that I wouldn't share either. So let's just agree to disagree. So far it has been a friendly and enlightening discussion between those that like me, find the English language fascinating. I see no reas...
