MB odometer accuracy

Has anyone ever checked the accuracy of their Middlebridge odometer? On a recent journey of over 250 miles, accompanied by a modern car, Google Maps showed the distance covered as 263 miles. The modern car showed 268 miles which was in part due to extra distance around services areas. However, the M...

About the new black EFL90 FORD oil filter

I also bought four of the EFL90 filters from Sandicliffe at £7.52 each. They're Ford main dealers so I doubt they're selling fakes. Perhaps the spec has just changed? :-? Well something has definitely changed. The black “EFL90” is 4 ounces (25%) heavier. So still not fitted either. Any ideas as to ...

Bentley Motor Museum closed ???

Don't panic, not *that* Bentley ! Being less than 20 miles away I generally regarded Bentley Wildfowl and Motor Museum in Sussex as my 'local' car museum, so I was very surprised to find out that it has recently closed down under very secretive circumstances. It was run by a Trust Fund, which I've a...

Removing rubbing strips.

Has anyone any experience of this option: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/E-Tech-Body-Bumper-Guard-Self-Adhesive-Trim-Strip-Moulding-Black-5m-Roll/202075326453?epid=1610067145&hash=item2f0ca0c7f5:g:1lIAAOSwAHtaCZ4i:rk:3:pf:0 ? At 47mm wide I don't think it would suit the Scim body, but are there any narr...

Removing rubbing strips.

Posting here as a sort of logical continuation of this thread... Dave Speed tells me that end caps for 'old' rubbing strip are no longer available, so a) does anyone know what current alternatives might be suitable when replacing rubbing strip? (apart from largely only-decorative eBay stuff) and b) ...

Beware the car thieves

He’d just taken delivery of a very nice 7 series BMW. Another neighbour was car jacked in Mcr for his Golf GTi. Section removed by moderator As Geraint says... Crime prevention can be simple and obvious but in the everyday rush of our personal lives we can become complacent. Just try and make your ...

Depends how wide you want to cast the net - the 750 Formula was originally built around Austin 7 engines, but when they became too old and valuable, they changed to using Reliant engines. They've now moved on to Fiats (presumably with the disappearance of Reliant). Reliant engined ones still race i...

Red Rocket, the Booze bus. Richards Black thing. Because they helped influence me to go racing. (note an avoidance of pointies - sorry, no bad meant. Just the way I'm made up.) :D Sorry, but these and Blue Thunder mean nothing to me. Can you/someone explain please? I presume these are various membe...

Get with the 21st Century, pleeeeze!!! :D We could set up a virtual Museum for 100th of the cost, just need well-produced clips of each vehicle - interior, engine bay, engine sound, some circuit coverage etc. Brilliant idea - and we wouldn't need to actually look at any of the AI imagery bec...

Barons 11 December 2018 SE4 - £12K!!

I think the only post that questioned the value was the first one? Well, Mister Chairman, as that was my post I can't let that preposterous suggestion go unchallenged. I think, Jim, you perhaps mis-interpreted my heading - when I put two exclamation marks, I intended to signify that this was an exc...
