Home insurance

Can you post the relevant definition from the insurance contract of what is defined as "car parts and accessories" ? Also does the policy schedule specify that these defined items are included in the cover? Usually an insurer has two get out clauses - first, the claimed items don't fall within the d...

Middlebridge Fuel

I've always used standard unleaded, never had any problems but then again I don't drive the car particularly hard. I think before I worry about the fuel I'd make sure the quick-connect on the fuel line in the engine bay is removed. Like many others before me, I ran the engine one day to find liquid ...

Legal beavers out there ?

I think that the objection to driving is more to do with the risk of accidents which would divert resources. All the nutters are still about and emboldened by the lack of traffic, are behaving even worse. We have already had two big accidents that I am aware of locally, one this morning. As if to p...

Legal beavers out there ?

On the local news tonight they are worried that the local A&Es are so quiet. Don't worry, Peter, they'll be filling up soon enough. It seems that Middlesborough is one of the areas that is least compliant with the stay-at-home rules, so given the gestation period of around 10 days, and they were as...

Toolstation the same, but free delivery on orders over £10, delivery 2-3 working days to most areas. I expect Screwfix will be similar.

How many coats does it take to spray a body repair?

I think they were trying to tell you something? 🤔🤔🤔 But what? They saw the car on 11 March. I had 5 quotes in from other places. So I phoned 2 days later - oh, yes, sorry, we'll get it to you asap. Then silence, for nearly a month, until today, out of the blue, the quote appears. If they didn't wan...

How many coats does it take to spray a body repair?

Now up front, I will warn you. This Is a trick question. Had a fight with a car park recently in my daily driver... look, it was giving it large and I'd just about had enough, all right? Anyway, I lost. So, off to the local body shops to get prices, and one of them came back with over £200, just for...

Little help please, SE5 interior hooks

Or you could get a matchstick (thin drill bit, etc), mould some blutack around it and carefully insert it into the hole, press sideways, bring back to centre then remove. This should give you the thread pattern and some indication of taper or not.

Lucas Dash Lever Switches Mod 182SA

I guess you've also seen the 2011 thread on Pistonheads that confirms these switches were made up by the client as I suspected. The fascias with individual symbols were available separately, I imagine, since Lucas did this on other types of panel switch. However, as you note, if the guts of the thin...

Lucas Dash Lever Switches Mod 182SA

This might also be of interest: https://manualzz.com/doc/22830978/panel-switches The 182SA appears on page 76 or thereabouts, section 3.62, though it seems to be only a single base, suggesting the different variants are not supplied by Lucas but made by clients to their own needs. Also rather oddly,...

Lucas Dash Lever Switches Mod 182SA

You may find some information here: https://www.autoelectricalspares.co.uk/rocker--panel-switches-143-c.asp I just went through Google Images for "Lucas 182SA" and this was one of the first hits. If there are others not covered here just try a more extensive search through Images to see if you can f...
