Re: SteveyC, anyone have contact details please?

Hi all. Lovely demonstration of kindness from you all thank you. Although working, I feel I am emerging from the metaphorical duvet and feeling more positive again now. We laid my father to rest last week and celebrated mum's 70th yesterday (which also would have been Dad's 70th) so looking forwards...

Re: SteveyC, anyone have contact details please?

Hi all, massive apology to everyone trying to help Andy here and Andy himself. Had too much bad stuff to deal with and arguably a bout of depression just couldn't bring myself to respond knowing my response could be effectively letting go of a vehicle I am very emotionally attached to. This was a bi...

New Boots and a Scrub-a-dub

One of the good things about cleaning a car in torrential rain is that you don't have to keep filling up the bucket! Much needed moss removal took place today and new boots on my GTE is cool cool. It's been too long. £53 a corner for 205/70/14 is also a plus. http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh311...

Re: Whats the point in a deposit when buying a car?

No way this is an honest enterprise. I'm 100% in agreement with JP. Call the cops. as if you'd block the number...just pay the deposit back by bank transfer it takes 30 seconds, even if you can't just refund the card on which you took the deposit back. A big fat rat is being smelt.

Re: Whats the point in a deposit when buying a car?

Very interesting. Cool. Bound to need to do it at some point genuinely had no clue it was as cheap, or simple as that.

Re: Whats the point in a deposit when buying a car?

Yeah, that's outrageous listing your old car and agreeing delivery and not giving you your deposit back instantly with a huge (if frank) apology. Slime bag! I have long held the view I'd rather buy a car from auction (live or virtual) as at least Joe Public might sell a duffer but won't have hidden ...

Re: Whats the point in a deposit when buying a car?

Hmm, not sure I agree. Surely if the deposit was fully refundable on your part it should work the other way round, I feel there is a caveat in the above email that would be a get out for him. As long as you get your £100 back promptly. On the plus side, at least you don't have a Dodge Nitro now........

Re: TVR back in England

Hmm, don't know whether to be suspicious of his secrecy or respect it. I like his motivation re Aston Martin racing though so hopefully it's in good hands. If I was a multi-millionaire I'd want a british Marque to resurrect too.
