Emissions test and catalytic converter

Interested in your comments re your MOT and the tester. Had the Quantum MOT'd a couple of weeks ago and they told Oxby's that the emissions were a bit high. However it passed (without advisaries) as although it was factory built in 95 with a new 1.9 engine the emission result was ignored not only be...

Emissions test and catalytic converter

Hi guys Catalytic Converter now fitted resulting in zero CO emissions and an MOT pass with no advisories. Garage said that they couldn’t remember the last time they had passed one with a zero reading. Don’t know why but car does now appear to tick over better and pull smoother so assume that running...

FS: Straight Six Coupe

Just so I can put my mind at rest and stop wishful thinking how much? I know it will be out of my reach but it looks a fabulous car and one can only dream.

Emissions test and catalytic converter

OK chaps. Panic over. Getting one from Nigel at QRG. He has them in stock. Cat only not full exhaust system. Will let you know final cost for future reference. Said he would do me good deal as he said last one he sold was 10 months ago.

Emissions test and catalytic converter

Have spoken to Nigel at Reliant Parts World. He gave me part no. 223027 which is listed by them on ebay. Although it states it's for the 1800Ti he says he's been told it is really the one for the 1.4 K series. Have attached pic so can anyone confirm this?

Emissions test and catalytic converter

Quick question fella's. The Sabre just failed it's MOT on the emissions test. An examination of the exhaust appears to indicate that it should have a cat fitted since the pipe has an infill section fitted about a foot in length with flanges at each end. I believe that the K series fitted to the Rove...

Afternoon all Let me start by thanking everyone once again for all the comments, advice and help in assisting me to sort out the problems not only with this car but all the Scims I have owned. Having such a backup of knowledge and support available certainly eases the concerns if not the frustration...

Sabre 1.4 cvh

My old Sabre. It is SST based and upgraded by Beans to Sabre spec. Its the one that had stood around outside for a few years. Didn't have a V5. Sorry don't know how to add a link but if you want to know further it is posted under "Sabre 1400" in the small sports section of the forum. Believe it cost...

Thanks Jim. I think you are right about overall measurements not being so relevant as the full nose length. Will check mine against your measurements later and let you know what I find. Will also check number of teeth on the drive gear.

Your right there Phil. You just need to know your way around the warren. Anyway thanks for looking but as Jim said he had already supplied that link. I'm pretty sure that once Jim checks his one on the shelf against the measurements of mine I will be hunting round for one. If it was CVH no doubt you...

Latest on the the Starter Motor fiasco Picked it up from Oxby's today to take it to be refurbished. However before doing so thought I would have a look at it myself. Connected it to a battery and the drive gear throws to its full travel no problem. However a closer look at the gear and the cause was...

Didn't know that front wheel drive would make a difference.

Did take note of that Jim. Just saying that they confirmed it.

Thanks again

Update on the starter motor. Having passed on the info to Oxbys that Jim supplied had a call from Leigh lunchtime with good news. Having stripped the motor off he found that when he connected it to a battery the starter drive gear was very sluggish in its movement. He found the joints connecting the...
