Do the other variants of that TD have a manifold that exits in a different place?
Yes, but not convinced they will work looking at pics (all other variants are for transverse engines). They are also different bolt patterns for the down pipe (stub in my case 😁 )

I think going under the sump is as low down as going under the chassis leg to be honest, plus the sump is a T shape with it being very wide at the rear so would need to go forwards, then under, then up and over and back again. I think it's either going to have to go tight under the chassis, or possi...

Been bulkhead chopping today....only an hour with a hammer and angle grinder to see if it's possible to get the turbo in. Anyway, looks like it will just about fit, but the exhaust will be inside the chassis leg which is a headache 🤔 And yes, its rough 🤣 but only a quick trial run. 20200922_171716.j...

Well the car used to be an auto, so havent checked but presuming 3.07 ?
Sierra weighed 1165kgs. And I presume the diesel engine and box are lighter than the essex.

Well I've gone and bought another 2x sierra TD engines, with the hope I can either reinstate the turbo or just swap the complete units over 🤔 A trip up to Consett to collect is on the cards. Anyway, I've been thinking about gearing and all I've done is give myself a headache. Scim Diff ratio 3.07 wi...

Clutch types GTE

I wonder if anyone can tell me if there are 2 sizes of clutch for the 3.0 GTE's.
I've a pile of clutch components I'm going through and one plate is a bit smaller than the rest - is this a 2 rod / 3 rod box difference, or have I just got a rogue plate in my stash??
Cheers.

I'm considering re fitting a turbo to Dick. I expect it will be tight, possibly need a bulkhead mod, or just be impossible.
Trouble is, I dont really know what I need or how to pipe it all up etc as the haynes doesnt cover it. Main thing I cant see is where the oil feed would come from?

About an inch and won’t change the geometry enough to notice. Add some spacers to the damper bottom plates too?
Cheers Jim. I just cant justify adjustable shocks on a 69bhp plodder 😁
