OR I could make a step in the top, like Reliant did!
Perhaps the designers knew best - who would of thought?!

Or they came across the same issues (dilemmas) you are now and they couldn't agree on a solution and settled on the step-in modern feature lol

Or, keep the glovebox lid and the symmetrical dash top curve. Then taper the bullnose to suit the gap created.
Eg: at the ends the bullnose could be Ø20mm but in the middle to fill the gap it might have to be tapered up to Ø50 – see rubbish drawings again.

My Purple Project - SE5a 1973

OK, Stupid suggestion... As everything bar the glovebox lid would now be the same material and colour how's about, concentrate on getting the dash top “curve and bullnose” how you want it – whether that be a symmetrical curve, flat etc. With this in mind and my “fag pack” sketch (I can’t draw so I a...

My Purple Project - SE5a 1973

Forgive my lack of knowledge on this but, what about this:

https://www.ecfibreglasssupplies.co.uk/ ... rands-6-mm

Could this be mixed in with the resin (localised) to form its own thicker local area?

Bridgy - 1972 se5a

Ok then, about time this was started. It's sat in the garage for 12 months and not been touched other than the lad climbing over the top to get me stuff off the shelves the other side. So, decided the first job was to look at the A-Post / Hinge repairs needed. Eventually after having to drill out al...

Help from new owners & Sprint wannabies please

Morning all, I know this has possibly been done before and I have searched and read and computed and confusion still reigns, so I apologise. I brought a scimitar 1972 se5a last year and we intend to complete a full stripdown and rebuild on it. The only project we have ever done was a complete re-cha...
