Re: Practical Classics Magazine

Oh well looks like I missed the boat on this one!

Practical Classics Magazine

Anyone read the April issue of Practical Classics magazine yet?
Turn to page 177 and there’s a great feature on the Sabre & Scimitar owners club with some cool photos.
There’s also a cheeky little article about the Medway Monkeys club on the opposite page!
Top job Practical Classics!

Re: SE5a Track car help.

Unfortunately due to a change of circumstances I’ve reluctantly had to put the Scimitar up for sale. :(
Click the link and check the for sale room for more information:

Re: Reliant vs Rover at the Retro Show

I forgot about this post! Just to let you know that the rescheduled race didn't happen either because the Rover had some problems.
So it's game on for next year now!

Re: SE5a Track car help.

I think it will end up just being a track day car/weekend toy. My brother’s father in law has sprint cars so I thought I'd speak to him as well, and it's beginning to sound like a lot of work to get the car past the scrutinising. Sounds like there are a lot of regulations about what you can and can’...

SE5a Track car help.

I’ve just brought another SE5a Scimmy and I’m thinking of turning it into a track/sprint car. I’ve already stripped the car of everything so that it’s just a rolling shell. Also managed to find a Cosworth V6 that I’m considering fitting. I’ve never raced or built a track car before so this is all ne...

Re: My Scimmy

CanI ask who did the paint ad how much? Looks bostin. I love that colour, same as my favourite MGB. The paint job was done by a friend of mine who’s a professional sprayer. To cut the cost down, I did most of the preparation work myself and I brought all the paint, thinners and hardener needed for ...

My Scimmy

I thought I’d better start a thread in here seeing as my ’73 Scimitar seems to have become more of a project than I ever really intended. I originally brought my Scimmy back in October last year after rescuing it from a barn where it had been laid up for the last 15 years. I’ve always been a “Ford g...

Help with bumpers

I've decided that my Scimmy is gonig to get a fresh coat of paint before the winter sets in.
I've started removing the bumpers but I can't figure out how the front over riders come off!
Can anyone help me out and tell me how I can remove them.

Cheers :D

Re: Reliant vs Rover at the Retro Show

It’s bad news but not game over! After spending the best part of the day before the race fitting my new electric fuel pump and regulator and carrying out all the other pre-flight checks, my Scimitar never made it to Santa Pod. While locating and fixing the new fuel pump to the bulk head I must of di...

Re: Reliant vs Rover at the Retro Show

Yeah the Rover is pretty much standard. As for my Scimmy I've fitted tubular manifolds and installed my home build exhaust system which consists of two 2.5" diameter straight through pipes finished off with two Suzuki Hayabusa end cans. Plus with the K&N air filter fitted it does sound a little bit ...

Re: Things people have said about your Scimitar

I always get the usual “Nice Scimitar……My dad had one of those” to which I normally reply “Thanks….My dad still has his”.

Reliant vs Rover at the Retro Show

http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o159/Jimbob-Squarepants/great_british_breakdown.jpg It’s the Retro Show at Santa Pod Raceway this weekend and it would seem that the gauntlet has been thrown down by my good friend Jim and the banter has now started. Recently I brought a ’73 Scimitar GTE and I’ve ...
