So when is my GTC tax exempt?

Taking my car as an example.....it was built in Nov 79 but only sold in Aug 80. Now, reliant putting build dates in their chassis numbers and also having a dealer letter explaining this is proof enough for the dvla. So, my car is now mot exempt, but will only be able for tax exemption in early apri...

So when is my GTC tax exempt?

As Jim has already answered, tax exemption will depend on when your GTC was registered, not unfortunately for a large number of us GTC owners, when it was manufactured - which as we all know, is coded in the VIN. Of the 340 built in 1980, quite a few weren't registered until well into 1981, and some...

GTC Hardtop survey

Alex, thanks for posting :D
Count me as interested in a full set. The rear has been in & out a few times (was out when I acquired the GTC) and as mentioned on e-mail, the sides are beginning to perish.

Possible scammer selling Scimitars on eBay

The GTC appeared last month on eBay. Seemed then to have legitimate details, though unfortunately not on the register under that registration number (UDU 463W) Interestingly, the buy it now price is the same as the price I recorded after 23 bids, and reserve not met. I don't know if it legitimately ...

Sabre bodied SS1

Jim, is that still a 1300 engine?
The air filter was round not oval, or at least it was on mine :?

(I didn't read the eBay ad, so forgive me if it already mentioned the engine was changed  )

New member GTC

Hi new GTC owner :) and welcome. I'm the club GTC Registrar and kindly ask if you could let me know your car registration and VIN number so that I can confirm/update details on the register. You can either PM (private message) me on this forum, or email to gtc.registrar@rssoc.co.uk the details. Than...

A straight six coupe on a G reg?
Agreed. The chassis the D-type kit is on and the bodyshell in the background are unlikely to have been the same car (though if purchased as a box of bits, the seller might not have been any the wiser)

Hotmail email problem

Thanks for suggestions :D
Typical though, it's working fine again

I checked and it is still looking at m.hotmail.com server, though as suggested, I would have expected this to have changed to outlook a long time ago !

Hotmail email problem

Is anyone with hotmail experiencing problems at the moment? I cannot sync with the hotmail server on my kindle fire (tablet). It advises that I don't have permission to sync with the server m.hotmail.com. This is since yesterday evening, though it's been no issue for years! My Sony phone has no prob...

GTC champagne boot lid

Sorry, I was out last night. If you can get it to Sandhurst I can collect it from there, or even from Philip in Bracknell (per his offer above). I do visit a supplier occasionally near where Mike (scimmy-man) lives, but I'm not sure when I might get there next. If not fairly soon, i'll contact Mike ...

GTC champagne boot lid

I'm sure Kev O isn't too far away, and he is usually at least once a week at my office in Bracknell. I'd just need to find a reason to get further north... to get somewhere nearer to Mike (scimmy_man)
