Help needed after 5 years of laying dormant!

The first, right angle type bracket in the second picture looks like it could be the rest for the driver's left foot that attaches to the transmission tunnel on automatic cars (and possibly manual cars as well ? ).

SPAX or AVO or Gaz or Protech?

I would not use Spax ever again. They do not seem well made, are sprayed with one coat of paint with no primer and after not many miles will start their infamous clunking noise. For some reason or other these facts seemed to upset some Spax groupies  - I don't know why. Check my project threa...

Need documentation on a SE5

I have heard of wildly varying experiences too - sometimes the simplest thing can turn into a nightmare while what you might think would be very difficult is no problem at all. For example, I changed the frame number on a motorcycle by filling in the change section on the V5c and sending a rubbing o...

Need documentation on a SE5

I don't mean to highjack this thread, but I have a slightly similar situation - although the vehicle is in the UK: The only vehicle inspections I have ever had done are MOT tests, so can anyone tell me how the DVLA inspect vehicles now that they no longer have local offices? Do they send someone out...

Se6a “number 3”

That is looking very good indeed. Also seems that it is getting used which is excellent - pity about the fuel pump though :? . I have to say that I would have had no qualms about driving down to Manchester in it, and I did do up to 400 miles in a day in it on more than one occasion. 100 litres of fu...

My dad's SE6b for sale

I've heard from one or two Scimitar owners that Scimitar's won't rise in value much, and the tone in their voices tells me they aren't messing about. If they do rise significantly all they are going to do is attract those that don't use them regularly, and instead they end up as garage queens throu...

What cars did you see today? (Non-Scimitar)

Common or garden MGB, Marykirk, Sunday 23rd June. A disturbingly pink shade of red and looking like it has had new rear springs fitted but needs new front springs. The summer Sunday sunshine brings them out of hibernation - still good to see though.

Good or Appropriate Number Plates

SA10 - I have seen this one a few times over the past decade or so. Sometimes I wonder if I should fit something similar to my little wee 20 year old Honda 125 - just to let the uninitiated know that I ride it because I want to, not because I have to  . But, it is not really my sort of "thing"...

My dad's SE6b for sale

I sold my SE6a in March for less than it was probably worth and a lot less than the cost (or even the value) of the collective parts. Cost, value and worth are often very different things that can easily be confused at times. I know exactly what money is but a surprising number of people don't seem ...

I sat my first driving test in a Lamborghini when I was aged 16 (a tractor, obviously  ).

Hi David,

I will send you a PM.

Hope you don't want the silencers or wheel balancer as I have just placed them in a local auction.

Michael.

SE6a (mostly, but not all) parts

This should help a bit. Of the items shown in the pictures on this thread, this is the rough of what is still available: Starter Motor **Wiper Motor - gone. Cooling Fans (was going to use two as a sort of period upgrade) ATF-G (about 10 litres left) **Wheel Balancer - gone to Broomfield auction. **O...

SE6a (mostly, but not all) parts

I've just spotted you live in Montrose, just down the road from me ( Aberdeen). Might be better if I come and see for myself and your other items. How can we arrange? David Hi David, All the axle parts are gone, but it is not easy to see as the information is spread out at various points in the thr...

Hi Mick,
thank you for the speedo :)

I'm sorry about the cat. Never nice.
Mikey, I will continue to watch your project with interest.

Thanks. I have plenty of wounds and scars to remind me of the cat - she was a bit of a handful, to put it very mildly.
