Wing mirrors

My drivers side mirror and plinth are in a very sorry condition and I do not have a passenger door mirror. Has anyone here found a replacement set of mirrors that look good and they would recommend. Not too fussed about having them adjustable from inside car. Thanks in anticipation. Keith

New windscreen is £365 plus VAT
Why is that relevant?
Not relevant but was a surprise. Only 2 listed as available in the UK and a three month turn round schedule for any after they have gone.

Is the car not insured? You only pay the excess for a new screen and it doesn't affect your no claims discount or premium.
That was my other route. Car insured fully comp but has £75 excess for the screen.

SE6A Windscreen replacement.

For a 5a, it’s rubber to body first, then fit the screen. Whatever you do, do not be tempted to cut the seal shorter, thinking it’s too long. It will fit. I did mine, single handed. I won’t do doing one again in a hurry. Might be a different story with two people in the summer, but if a pro is goin...

SE6A Windscreen replacement.

Have to replace my cracked windscreen and at £350 and 3 week lead time I will not be installing a new one. Trying to find a second hand windscreen now.Thinking the GW replacement rubber looks a good option. BUT I have never installed a windscreen before and a pro wants £40 an hour. What is the lates...

But the dizzie won’t rotate? But the car runs.... others will have more wisdom but it has to be catching on something
Only the dizzie body that is seized. Rest appears to be fine though may not be after I have loosened it.

So is the timing actually out ? My own stupid fault really. Car runs fine but I wanted to check that the timing was correct so highlighted timing mark and was going to check static timing first when I found the problem. BUT I could have left it and carried on but NO because it is wrong I have to fi...

Rereading your problem it seems 5he dizzie won’t rotate, then that being the case suggest the clamp bolt (3mm) is not slackened sufficiently
No the clamp bolt is loose and the clamp plate is free and moving easily.

Well what can I say. Many thanks for your comments. Never ceases to amaze me the number of quirky problems that keep getting thrown up. I am still here and will not be beaten.

Well, this car never stops amazing me and how much of a fight she can put up to stop me renovating her. I was going to run a strobe light to check the ignition timing. Set strobe up and slackened distributor hold down clamp. Check to make sure it could be rotated. NO the bloody thing is seized solid...

Spare wheel

Does anyone have photos of the spare wheel layout please.

I have the spare wheel only but need to know what the original spare wheel set up was, what jack was used and how was the wheel retained. I need to purchase jack etc to complete this part of my rebuild.

Many thanks,

Keith

Hi Keith Bit confused here. I have only just prepped regulator units and I would gladly install one of your used units if you would be willing to sell a pair. What do you mean "Prepped" ? :?: And do you want One or Two ? Where are you ?. Mark Sorry Mark. I am based in Norfolk. Prepped both th...

Window motor and wiper blades

Ok Keith Glad to hear Dad is ok, got personal troubles myself. Ripping working motors out of working units is stupid, as the lift units would be scrap. Brand new units are only around £60/70, and after you have spent the time swapping just the motors what have you saved??.Yes I fully understand tha...
