1800ti ignition

I seem to have caused some confusion! Thanks for the information/comments so to clarify it is an et engine and the wiring is to and from the grey connector by the exhaust manifold. I need to know which wires connect to which wires across the connector. The reliant wiring diagram shows the colour cod...

1800ti ignition

I have managed to destroy the connecting plug that connects to the distributor crank angle sensor on my ti. Looking at the wiring from the loom there are 4 wires, red green blue and light green/black. On the distributor side there are 4 wires red black white and green. As I have destroyed the plug ...

sounds like you have cracked it then although presumably the pistons are not forged.

I am probably missing something here but are you intending to fit the new rings into the +1 pistons without knowing the make or specification of the original rings? Are there any markings on the underside or on the original rings?

Valve spring compressor nissan ET / DET

I found the valve compressors too restrictive so made my own end from an old spark plug socket. Cutting it away on one side leaves enough room (just) to fiddle the collets in.[image][/image]

All joking aside I think the work you are doing, together with Daryl, Ben, Nick and Jim to produce proper competitive SS1's is outstanding and the results deserve a bit of polish.Cannot wait to see how they all go when used to the limit. Keep up the good work all of you. At least it gives me somethi...

as I remember it Gerry Cunningham built and drove the super modified class coupe that is now known as the Red Rocket and was very successful in the championship. Jerry Ree was also in the super modified class so both cars were extensively modified so you are only fooling yourself. The signs are ther...

I have seen this before where racers reach a certain time in their lives where they start painting and polishing and the look of the car becomes more important. The same happened to Gerry Cunningham and Jerry Ree to the point where they started to receive anonymous parcels containing yellow dusters ...

The shorter oil cooler was fitted to my SS1 when I got it. The previous owner was a lady who had had it since 1996 so it probably was original. Perhaps Reliant fitted whatever was available. When I tried fitting another manifold with the larger oil cooler it fouled on the large nut on the top. After...

Steve, the oil cooler you are using was fitted to the det and probably late model et engines. I have taken a picture of both and the height difference is about 25mm . Geoff . cannot seem to attach photo. How do you do it?

are you trying to not use the part that bolts to the block and the filter and cooler fit to? if so you lose the spring loaded oil safety valve which might cause a problem. Have you tried using the oil cooler from the ET engine as this is a bit shorter although the heat exchange rate is probably less...

Glad you are sorted.
