I would normally not wish to publish my car addiction, however I’m so pleased and looking forward to driving this Scimitar that I thought to share the photos of MickP’s old car with you.
Bought the car a month or two ago, from Mick in Montrose, have been waiting for the guy who paints cars for me to have a space, and finally got it back today.
I first had a Se6a nearly 40 years ago,and have been searching for a useable daily classic for a number of years, with tens of cars come and gone.
I’ve a GTC, and a Coupe, this GTE, I’m hoping that this will drive the best of all.
During the wait for paint, I’ve bought MX5 brown leather seats,new plates, steering wheel, had the centre armrest recovered, new wheel nuts and centres,Mick gave me new rear lights,and new badges will come from QRG.A set of AVO shocks came from this site,meant to happen as the guy selling them was taking a break 10 minutes from me as I rang, delivered and paid for literally within the hour.
Once all is fixed/fitted I’ll post photos,Peter

Hi Peter,

I am seriously pleased that you are doing a project thread on this car - my concern was that I would never hear or see of it again, but it looks like that is not going to happen.

The paint looks excellent, by the way :D

Yes, I really did’nt like the WIL 2553 plate on a 65 car, better still when booking into a posh campsite with our caravan and Disco the manager said to my wife “Wills in the car”, and she said “no that’s Peter” and the Coupe matches the plate,cheers Peter

And Anders, the colour according to spectrograph is same as the bathroom suite!

Always liked greengage yellow - it really pops when it’s well polished.

As an aside, the windscreen fitter asked if it was possible to remove the dash top to facilitate the refit, is this normal practice, and if so, how do you remove the dash top, thanks Peter

The dash top is bonded to the fibreglass frame underneath it.
It is, in turn bolted to the Two A pillars inside the car, but is a pain to get out.

Never needed to remove the dash when doing screens myself.

I had a new screen fitted to the Yellow Peril by autowindscreens and they certainly didn't remove the dash.

The vcolour looks great! :D

New Bulgarian rear lamps given by Mick with the car refitted,and front grill and headlamp surrounds painted satin black to loose the 80’s colour coded look

First decent run today to the WMC Langholm breakfast meet,car looked great in the sunshine,drove really well,then failed on the way home with a non functioning fuel pump,still an easy fix.Will replace, and hopefully get out again next weekend when we are off to Manchester.Peter
