Well done Nick - beat everyone apart from the top 3 on scratch times, including a Porsche Cayman

Thanks all for the comments
(incidentally, high-res copies to be supplied to Terry & Nick)
Kev, they said you were there, so I kept a look out (I thought the crowds of autograph and selfie hunters would give you away?
), but I was out and about finding varying viewpoints for my photos, so our paths probably didn't cross.

Hi Rog,
I was parked up on the right as you head towards the cafe, a little tucked away but still had a note left on my windscreen asking if I wanted to sell it
See you at Silverstone

Ah yes, I would have passed that way on my way to Woodcote, but looking the other way, towards the track.
Looking forward to Silverstone!

Times really flown by and we’ve been pretty busy since this event.
It was great to see you both Kev O & Roger, great pictures as usual!
This event was a real mixed bag for me...
This is the first event I have attended that’s taken advantage of the rule change meaning only one practice run is required rather than two, with the old two lap practice being replaced with another timed run.
Practice went to plan, the only frustration was that even with the new longer diff ratio the top speed wasn’t much increased. The GPS tracker shows 108mph on the run down from Fordwater and 124mph at the end of the Lavant straight.
Kev popped over and saw Dad and I, and presented us with the Stu Harvey award! This is the RSSOCs engineering award for all the work we’d done on the car. Chuffed to bits with this!
T1 went without hitch, 101seconds, half a second slower than last year even though we have more power and longer gearing now! Watching the incar it was clear I wasn’t carrying anywhere near enough speed into / through the bends!
T2 saw the boost pipe pop off on run down to Madgewick - i cruised round and the pipe was refitted in preparation for T3. Frustrating but now harm done.
T3 was ‘maximum attack’ - with an alright time in the bag I was determined to go under 100seconds - all was going well until at the end of the lavant straight there was a red flag, I assumed due to the spinning Porsche I could see at the chicane. I backed off and trundled to the finish where when I pulled off the track there was an eruption of steam; assumed to be rad cap sealing issues (somthing we’ve had before). As I was red flagged I arranged for my re-run whilst ‘the pit crew’ topped up the water.
T3 (again) saw a decent start but within 10yards it blew the boost pipe off again, and I peeled straight into the paddock. Where it blew its water out again.
After some diagnostics we found the head gasket to have failed between no.3 cylinder and the water jacket, which on watching the in car looks like it failed on T3 at full chat at the end of the Lavant, so the red flag may have been for me too!
I can’t complain, it’s been super reliable up to now, and we still left with a trophy!
