Ben's SS1 - SSF novice sprint car drivers side trailing arm buggered

Post by CNHSS1 » Tue Mar 20, 2018 6:46 pm

There's a thread on here showing the pics of when I strapped and seam welded mine after breaking a trailing arm at 3 Sisters Circuit in 2004... blimey that makes me feel old!

oh not so good, some serious grunt passing through that arm!
good job split braking system as weel.

I can e-mail you the design for new versions (if you are handy with a welder), BUT not going to be a quick fix :-(

Have you found one yet? Think I have one you're welcome to borrow (i.e. replace it when you find another as it's my only spare) and I'm just outside Leek. Still has the hub, drum and driveshaft attached.

I think Roger Pennington fitted rose joints - but now t sure if that might upset a scrutineer if roadgoing? The BMW ones certainly “look” original. Pretty sure genuine ones have been NLA for a while, sadly.

You can't have the rose jointed ones in RG. I've just taken a set off my RG car :( . ................. along with the very nice rose jointed shocks....

Yes, I did, and it works well, but my car is roadgoing in an ordinary sense, rather than Roadgoing in a competition sense :)
