Hi Dave thanks for replying all valid points I could also see that both door frames quarter lights are in different positions relative to screen/ each other so some adjustment shim could be needed.

I'd be happy if could get equal gaps on the window as drivers is touching without any seals.

As car has a Matt black bonnet

think will do HT in black similar. Think Steve C painted the bonnet in stone chip black, might do HT solid black then if get good results do bonnet to match

The paint was so rough on the bonnet vents, stone chip seemed like the way to go And black does sit very well against gold.

Other option was use the gold bonnet, but that had more blisters than a roll of bubble wrap.

First event at Croft is only a month away I’ve got a couple of novice questions

1. Do I need roundals on the doors for numbers (if yes then probably prefer rectangular ones) do they need to be a certain size?
2. Staying with numbers how do you know your number for events? Do you keep the same number in CM or will it change per event
3. Does the Ti need an oil catch tank? Vent pipe goes back into turbo plumbing at present

You need numbers, advised with entry confirmation.Number will change with every event Self adhesive easiest, but will tend to remove paint over time which is why quite a few fit roundels. Demon Tweets catalogue/online easiest place to look.

Roundals are not needed, numbers just need to be clear. Sometimes that means using white instead of black.


Your number will be allocated by the venue in the entry list, rarely the same twice.


If the oil vent is fully rebreathing back into the intake that’s fine, if vented to atmosphere it will need to be in a catch tank.

Hi Ben, sorry to hijack your post but I to have been debating the door numbers. My car is silver so I presume black numbers will show up ok for the events but was also concerned about removing paint. Could anyone tell me if the roundals are likely to pull off the paint off when they are taken off or is it the constant on/off of event numbers that causes the issues?

Roundals are largely “fit and don’t remove..”

When I sprinted my road GTE I didn’t fancy roundals so I used the rear side windows with white stickers.

I’m 90% sure Nick H’s old silver SS1 ran black numbers straight on the doors fine.

As has been said taking numbers on and off the doors will damage the paint long term.
