I didn't reply about the shoulder straps, as I've used the cage harness bar. I did look at bolting back to the chassis, but as it drops away I was looking at making a small tower bracket to bring the mounts level. I think other people have bolted a bar across the chassis to get a level mounting, but that's usually when they haven't got a full cage.
The seat mount looks good. What's the crotch strap plate extending forward for?

Cheers Ben I m pretty sure the harness will be in the acceptable region around the harness bar so I'll go with that.
Plate extending forward...... indecisiveness.... when I put the seat in with the existing rails fitted I thought that to get the hole in the correct position i.e. Within 20 deg to the vertical the mounts would be slightly in front of the seat rail, after re checking they are slightly behind, I'll probably cut the front part off with grinder

This weekend bit more progress, seat back in, fire extinguisher mounted on floor, hardtop mounted....
Also you might see in the pictures the gap between the deck and the top is different larger passenger side
It as if it is slightly to narrow behind the b post...
Are they all like this??
Any advice?
Cheers
Ben
Ive made the brackets to hold the hardtop in place however the drivers side window is hard against the hardtop grp and the passengers side has a 30mm gap

the brackets that hold the standard seat belt top mount (and the soft top frame or HT brackets) have slotted holes to allow you to tension the soft-top or position the hardtop. Slacken the 3 bolts off and push down on the HT.

I can’t remember if I chopped the excess moulding of the area of the HT that meets the deck. Just have a check as there’s a score mark on all of the areas that need trimming.

I'll have a further look, it is touching drivers side and across the rear deck. Although at the b pillars there is a gap between hardtop and body.
However it doesn't really want to push down further, perhaps a few more mm removed across the rear deck might help. Although it is close to the rollbar and I had to remove the top rollbar padding
More sure how to sort the different gaps at the door windows is drivers no gap and passenger 30mm!
Yes this hardtop hasn't ever been fitted to a car so could be it's not perfect fitting

I fitted a HT to my SS1 just before Christmas and had exactly the problem you have. It's very slightly irritating, but no more.
My own thought on this (which may be totally wrong - I'm no expert) is that if any body panels on this model are ever removed/replaced, unless scrupulous care is taken, there is a good chance of misalignment. My own car is a total rebuild by a PO. I suspect that if re-assembly is/was not carried out with a HT in place, minor misalignment can occur. In my case the HT is neat on the O/S, but is about 10mm high in the way of the N/S B-post.(And, BTW, the shut lines all over are not as good as some others I've seen - perhaps slippage with flexing.)
