R7 is under spec for fuel injection. R9 minimum, but Biohose is the best you can buy, it even copes with 100% Ethanol.

Fancy a holiday in Gael, France?

There is no point trying to teach a pig to sing. It doesn't work and it annoys the pig.

If it’s any help,I bought at great expense some of Gates Barricade hose, supposed to be the very, very best...alas it delaminates internally, not perished.I solved it all by getting the aforementioned Biohose from Andy.I too would never use the braided variety, they look very nice but believe me when they eventually let go,the braid acts as a shroud and you get fuel pouring from the whole length of the hose. How do I know......I had a whole garage floor flooded when the fuel line decided to set itself up as a siphon..not the Scimitar though.

Thanks all, the project is on hold until it gets warmer (yes, even here it is cold - but nothing like the UK).
I may do the return with the Gates and the feed with Andy's magic stuff.
