If you could think of a good reason for doing so it would be worth discussing further - but 10 months down the line, nothing.
I'm out :-)

How not to answer a question - deflect from the original and ask your own question

I think Jim has already answered your original question ...'Total Forum members 3663 - Is this 100% accurate?' He said, yes it is, as there are that many members of the forum.
The number is a total - it is not split into how many are still active, how many post, how many are active only every 2 years etc - it is a number representing the total number of people who have ever been accepted as a member. So it is accurate :D:D

People .....come and go

I accept the number is 3663 - (Jim stated 3662 which I will also accept )
The records show a number

However, does the current Forum membership numbers -ie the 3663 number, need updating to take into account the actual membership of live beings - not dormant accounts by those who have whatever reason left or genereated by a computer which Jim and Phil have already mentioned.

For debate.
I would submit that all of the club members still have a genuine interest simply by renewing their membership.
N.B this is NOT to say that we, the non club members, do not share the same interest and we remain on the books forever and a day .

Again - I estimate the actual number of people on the books as of today is far less.

A do like a serious discussion that is positive. Perhaps this needs a new topic title -
' How to update the membership numbers to reflect the actual number of people still interested in Scimitar web forum'

I am sure many of the 3663 have simply found other interests.

I would appreciate Jim's input and others as I may just be out of order here by asking such a sensitive question.

Ronnie,

At least 3 of those are deceased but their accounts (and posts) won't be removed.

As my time on the forum is voluntary (as is everyone else's) I don't have the time to sort through a possible 300 or 3000 replies if they do respond.

There are a few members who return after 1/2/5 years away for various reasons so I don't see the need, point or desire to try and confirm or deny if the 3662/3 is accurate or not.

I was thinking more of folks who just join for a night and leave.

I take note of your comments Phil.
