Yes, it's the reason why there should usually be an earthing braid connected to the bonnet hinges :)

Apparently it did! I was parking cars for most of the day but it was beside the Millers Oils stand (that's where I got the epoxy sealer for the underside and I told them if they wanted to show an example of their wares to send any punters over for a look) and they said there was lots of interest.

Tub is now at the paint shop, so I probably won't see it again before Christmas........unless he needs a hand!

Well Chrimbo has been.......and gone.

I've given a good few days preping the car at the body shop, with a little help from the expert, more sanding, scotched, degreased and masked off it was rolled gracefully on it's 4" wheels into the paint booth just before Christmas.

I'm beginning to loath pink.....

We had sealed the booth to make it relatively airtight and placed a dehumidifier in with the car, and a few bits of timber, some carpet and anything else he could find that needed drying :? . Sucessfully pulled out a gallon or two of water from somewhere, it would have been handy if the bucket he used to dump the water into wasn't beside the dehumidifier, but there you go.

And as of last night it got a coat of epoxy primer, I'm going on the tear to celebrate :pint I only took the car over to him at the end of May, no point in rushing you'll only make mistakes (I don't have to rush to manage that).

Waiting patiently for it's buddy is the chassis (with it's ultra slim pancake air filter :) ):

Did you manage to get a set of inner wing splash panels?, I have found a set here and could drop them into the large box I will have to make for your imminent shipment of parts.

Finally have the body back and I am now ready to start rebuilding. Just got the engine bay and arches painted (stone chip under the colour), reckon it would have taken about 4 years to get the whole car done :lol:

Refitted the body last week and connected up enough things to get the car moving again (handbrake only) and drove it out into the sunlight, joy!!!

Not without incident, apart from figuring out how everything went back together, new Facet fuel pump took a minute or so (felt like ages!) to fill the carb....and then proceeded to vomit fuel onto the floor from somewhere within it's internals. Soon ripped it out and bypassed, it had done it's job :D
