:-) I love the way you kept just enough door to keep the handle on the GTE trailer very cool.

The doors were cut, mitred at 90 degrees and now still come off to allow front loading of the trailer, using the original door catches to keep them in place, all very clever, and all the work of Len Pennington who gave the trailer to me, it really is well engineered.

Very cool and very clever sounds like an understatement.

Nice pics!

This is the combination now, though the current autobox isn't up to scratch.
Misses is ok with aquamarine for the scim, but not for the van. To much, she says.
We'll see. I'm very happy she loves the Scim as much as I do.

not quite sure what rules this combo broke. . . . . . but maybe quicker to list those it didn't :-)

I 'think' the engine is around 6 or 7 cwt
axle is from 1930 / 40s on it's side with kingpins/lock stops welded up (at least forty years ago)
wheels are modified Renault 4 about twenty years ago
brakes?
nose-weight?

I tow a Bailey Discovery 4 berth with my SE5a, the van weighs 1070kg fully laden do is on the limits but the gte pulls it nicely, I just make sure I stay at or under 55mph to reduce the risk of snaking (I also use a well adjusted bulldog stabiliser)

Just keep a good bit of weight in the gte, forward of the rear axle to help the car balance out

Another Scimitar

With the very hefty trailer, it was over weight for the 5a, but it managed curbs and back at around 50mph
