So, now that 2008 is nearly done, who's coming to play next year? Anyone going to join me in the RAF Race Challenge? Open invite :D
Paul? Ben? Chris??? Anyone?

Hi Raz

having spoken a little to Paul - I dont think I can afford it.

Maybe I have left it a bit late in life too - seeing as how I would need qualifications and medicals too....

Will have to be content with what I have unless my luck changes

Cheers

Steve

Had my medical :D , passed with a comment on being over weight  ...the cheeky biatch!
Gonna try & get the ARDs in before the end of the year. Probably do the popular sprints and hopefully a couple of races.
Its basically like Paul commented on before, I have always wanted to race so if I don't do it now ('09) I will always regret it.

Absolutely mate, I say that to everyone: "Do it before it's made illegal!" :D
I would recommend Everyman Racing @ Mallory for your ARDS:

Hi Raz,

Had a look at the RACMSA website the other day and it does sound good, I think it could be a good place to race the SS1... I'd just have to balance it with doing as many Swinging Sixties races as possible.

Steve,

A season of racing doing 6 races has cost me similar to my championship winning year of 13 events inc travel etc, getting the licence, medical etc was around £500 all in..

Chris,

Good lad 8)

Okay Paul, provisional calendar for '09 includes Rockingham, Mallory, Croft, Lydden, Cadwell & The Birkett (possibly 3 teams for the Birkett) 8)

Steve, will see you out in the SSSC next year then :D

Hi Raz

will be out with the SSSC next year with an improved car - but not the new car that is some way off.

It will give me a chance to run the new engine in

Paul - how much did the racing itself set you back for 6 events - or have I misread your message ?

Cheers

Steve

Which of those are with CSCC this year Raz??

Yeah Phil hell of a lot of miles per £, I know they're different, but I do as many laps as an average season sprinting in one qualifying session, but there again a fuel bill for a race weekend is £100+ for racer and van on top of the £280 average entry fee so it's a big outlay every month, but no more than a 2/3 event month in the SSSC. So if you do 12 events it's not too much more to race...well that was my justification

Steve, I would say all in including travel and fuel for both cars £2.5k + a set of tyres, maybe two if you do Anglesey

Raz, Are they at the CSCC meetings again??

If anyone wants to see Pauls car, its on the RSSOC stand 3C33 at the NEC...just don't touch the n/s rear wing at the moment!

Rockingham & Cadwell are CSCC, Croft is DDMC, Lydden is SEMSEC, Mallory is MorganSCC.
