Rally of the Tests 5-8 November 2015

Post by jonamery » Sun Nov 15, 2015 8:12 pm

This time last week we were just finishing another Rally of the Tests, 800 odd hard miles on event (plus another 500 driving to/ back from) the car ran beautifully thanks to a lot of work by Iain Daniels classic Motorsport. We finished 16th out of about 80 cars entered, our best result so far..

Brilliant
I would really fancy having a go at something like that, Did you have to make quite a lot of alterations to the car ?

For a multi day event the main requirement is reliability. A trip meter is a must, but if you look on the Hero rally website there is a section on how to prepare your car.

Good point! One of the people I know through Goodwood was taking part - they retired.... :(

Great result!I notice you have fitted a roll-cage. Is that obligatory?

No its not obligatory, just advised. I did the first few without one, in fact on the first one, the car was very standard. With all these things you try to improve things with each event. Now the Scimitar is competitive even against the escorts and 911's. If only it had a good driver....

Well i don't see 16th out of 80 as signs of a a rubbish driver :)

Great job and great result! Maybe we need a 'rally stage' at Curborough 2016 for the rallyists to show us how its done 8)

Absolutely fantastic! I really wanted to see Rally of the Tests, as I live in Dumfries and Galloway, but I ended up doing the Lakeland Trial with the VSCC on the Saturday instead. Hope to see you and the car in action on another event soon!
