Installing on Tablet

Post by Terry H » Wed Jan 27, 2016 12:06 pm

Hi all.
I just bought a Tablet with the intension of using my endoscope with it. The problem is the scope program is on a disc and the Tablet is not recognised by my computer. I thought I would be able to install the program with the Tablet attached as a drive addition to my PC using the USB cable but it's not showing as an extra drive. I've plugged the scope into the Tablet and the lights on the scope come on so the scope is getting power from the Tablet, but there is no video capture program on the Tablet to give me a picture. I used to run the scope on my laptop before Christmas but sold the laptop to my sisters stepson in a moment of madness and then realised I had nothing to use with the scope, so bought this Tablet. Any ideas anyone.

can you upload a copy of the software to a cloud based storage? eg dropbox etc , and then install on the tablet?

It's unlikely you'll be able to install a program meant for a PC onto a tablet - unless it's basically a full Windows tablet, you'll have to install an App if one exists.

It's an Android thing, not being able to use this Endoscope means the tablet is of no use to me. I should have bought a second hand laptop.

Sadly, it won't be any good for that.

I've got an iPad but the only use outside of surfing the web and playing games the only other thing I can use it for is an an OBD reader with my wifi dongle.

Thanks Both,
I will attempt Manny's idea of transferring the program to a USB memory stick as soon as the tablet has charged up as I have nothing to lose. If that doesn't work one of my Grandchildren will be getting a gift.

It is possible to run Windows programs on an Android device and vice versa. But it aint easy !

You need to run an emulator window on either device. There's plenty of info on the web on how to do this and which programs you need to help you.

I'm afraid this probably doesn't help you Terry :( . As it's still no guarantee that it'll operate your endoscope even if you get the software running.

Found an app called CameraFi that will run a endoscope through micro USB and the video ad shows someone using it on a car, so installed the app but still cant gat a picture.
