Sounds like a lot of fun! I enjoy seeing LEJOG at the spectator points, each year, but I notice they've not appeared yet! Do you know where they will be this year?

Nope, just responded to a call requesting help by the local car club. Funninly enough they didn't mention the 4 am start in the first email !!

As soon as i get any details I'll post them up, but yes should be fun. I remember going to the M5 services at Brent Knoll in somerset to watch the cars (Its a brief rest stop for them) quite a few years ago and seeing a (Ford?) Falcon competing and thinking, cripes that will be an expensive fuel bill !!

Off to bed.

Up at 3:40 am to be picked up and taken to Lands End.

Apparently I'm doing the end of Stage 1.

I'd rather do my norm and turn up 10 mins before kickoff but the other bloke is a bit like my wife. Not feminine with blond hair and a tongue like a ripsaw, but organised and insists we leave 2 hours early. So no beer, no tv just a cup of tea and reading copious notes on how to be a good marshall.

I might tell those drivers a thing or two.

"Oi. Yes You, driver. Did you know you get extra points on the next stage if you step the back end out; But try not to go over the cliff. Those folks from the National Trust get a bit up tight if you mess up the beaches. But the bloke before you did a treat one. Just like top gear it was....

Do you want me to show you how...

Entry list says there is a 1976 5.7ltr Scimitar GTE Special in amongst the runners - any photos or comments?

I did that start control under the famous signpost and then ran 1hr after last car in the Club Nissan Patrol all the way to JOG. It was bl**dy freezing I could hardly hold a pencil & write. What a caper that was.

One of the people I know through Goodwood is doing this year's event. I see from the entry list he's in car no 1, the Dodge Senior Six :)

I hadn't spotted the Scimitar in the list, that sounds interesting :) It seems to be Swiss?

I know Michael Kunz he was in the rally I have just done the results for. As was Mark Godfrey. Tony Sheach used to have a Sabre Six. Peter & Helen Morris often come but in a bright green Porsche. 24 & 42 from Kent are always in the Hughes rally where I have done results.

120 cars.

7:30 start.. Was dark. Course I only thought to take photos after 17 cars. (I offoaded my marshalling responsibilities)

Brilliant fun. Some guys , really serious, some really nervous (overshooting or even trying to go on), some full of beans.

Roger; the Dodge friven by Michael Kunz didnt't make it through this stage (Stage 1) so not sure about whether it got going at all

Very very envious but pleased to get up close to a lot af great machinery.

These are only a few of the pictures. More lotus mk1 cortinas, porsches, bm's etc, volvos just great
