Could one of these also work at the back around a section of chassis?

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Motorsport-H ... 1438.l2649
The steelwork behind the rear bumper on an SS1 is pretty thin and would not take much of a pull to pull it out of shape. Some have beefed this up by inserting a section of steel to the chassis below the tank I think linking the two together. I took the view that this was lots more work than what I did which was easy and cheap to achieve even by an amateur like me
Looking at your Pics, I think your solution is easier. Did that towing eye screw straight in?

The loop bit of the eye had an M12 thread into which I put a length of M12 bar. The other end of the bar goes through the diff hole with nuts and washers either side and all tightened up to secure it.

Simply loop the lifting strap through the eye and run the other end to the corner of the bumper securing with tie wraps. The wraps simply keep it all in place so that its all neat and hanging under the bumper. I used the lightest wraps I could get away with so that when the car is towed they just snap without causing any damage to the car. Never been used in anger yet

This is the eye. The bit that screws into the loop is M12

This is the type of sling I used. Mine was 3 tonne but 1 would do the job

Well that's Gurston, Prescott and Shelsley Walsh Booked! Expensive morning!

I have only booked the Sunday at Gurston at the moment as I feel that a two dayer to start with may be a baptism of fire!

Any others of the following need early booking?
Abingdon
Castle Combe
Curborough
Wiscome

Question, are you signed up to a suitable championship, I may have overlooked this if you have already, but can't help but notice you aren't on the classic marques list.

Re the tow point. I did as per Swoakes, substantial eye in the diff casing and a 1 tonne (3 tonne breaking limit iirc) 1M strap through this and tied up with a zip tie to a P clip on the rear bumper lower fixing.

Right you are, hadn't spotted the latest list.

No room at the inn for any more though by the look of it. Have fun, do the sword badge proud!

Fire Extinguisher?

Do I need one for events; if so what size and I presume dry powder?

I carry one in the boot day to day, but does it need to be secured somewhere in the cockpit?

You don’t need one in RG but it is recommended. Foam is the way to go not DP.
