Well done guys. The new format looks good. I have collected a few links to useful sites in my short time competing. Could those be sent to a central point for checking and posting by a mod?

Happy to help with a dummy profile if you like using the Curbs commentary sheet; let me know.

I still cant quite work out what we do with links, maybe a sticky at the top of the general forum that people can post links in. That has the bonus that anyone can add to it, but it will quikcly get quite long and difficult to find what your looking for, and also theres no policing that they still work. Unless a Mod takes them and puts them into the first post of the sticky. Your opinions?

Knock your self out - feel free to add anything else you want to it, I just thought that the commentary sheet was a good starting point. People can comment on it, and once were happy I'll delete the comments and we can then use yours to set the president for the rest.

I think links can be in a relevant post (so that you can search by keywords in the title) - for example, links to helmet suppliers can go in a post in general titled "helmet suppliers" (maybe we need a recommended suppliers section?) a link to the blue book should be in the "how-to" and links to Prescott website (for example) in venues.

Like you say, it'll get unwieldy if there's just a sticky containing links? have you got some examples Steve?

See how it pans out - if you need more sections under General Competition Discussion (i.e. Suppliers, etc), these can be added easily if needed. Probably best to leave this (GCD) section for those items which don't fit into the other categories for now and then see whats needed?

There a couple of things I can do with the Club Calendar that I'd like you to consider:

1. I can give one or more of you access to the competition entries in the calendar, ie add, delete and edit.

2. I can present the calendar with only competition entries, in the competiton section. The usual Club Calendar would be unchanged showing all entries.

I can do this quite quickly if you think it's a good idea.

I think that's a great idea. Especially no.2 as it's easy to miss things if they're camouflaged by lots of other entries.

I've made a quick stab at changing the Competition page . There are a number of links and the Competition Calendar is on the same page lower down. Constructive criticism please.

that looks great Ian - only comment is on the text, "If you want a taster, members test days are run at Curborough.." may make a newbie think only full Club members can enter?

Not sure if it's been mentioned or picked up, but the "quick reply" box is missing from new threads in the new sections.
