Competition section re-structure

Post by scimjim » Thu Aug 29, 2013 7:16 pm

As you may (or may not :-)) notice, the competition section has expanded and been split into the different motorsport disciplines.

Over the next few weeks (or months :D ) Nick K and I will be migrating all of the old threads across into the relevant new sections.

To that end - please DO NOT post in the old "General Competition Discussion" section but use the relevant new section.

Dont understand Jim. I generally view/answer from my phone and thru the 'new posts' feature, so cant tell whats new or old.
Is the plan to close the old section at some point? Or move the posts to new format?

Amended to make more sense :-)

Replies don't matter because everything current is already in the new section.

Just don't start new threads in the old General Competition Discussion section please.

okay - every post has been moved or merged from the old "General Competition Discussion" section into it's new home. If anyone notices something in the wrong section, just send me a PM please.

There were about a dozen or so that didn't logically fit into a section (F1, drag racing, etc) - if you think they should be somewhere else I will move them.

Please avoid posting threads for multiple events in the "events" section (like the latest Wiscombe/Gurston thread) - particularly where they are months apart. One event thread containing entry details, results, reports, photos, chat relevant to the event, etc - if it's just general chat - in the general chat area please :-)

Finally - I have read nearly every thread in the old section while moving it and there are some fantastic photos and videos in there - if you own them, or post others in future - please upload them to the FB/youtube pages or send them to a teenager who can :-)

The ones that don't fit in one of the new sections surely belongs in "General Competition Discussion"?? - or do we change it to "Motorsport Discussion"?

I did think about leaving GCD in place but we run the risk of everything going in there again :-)

Can you make a "other motorsports" section then?

Nice one Jim! I did it when I could, but really wasn't on a PC much and there's no way i was going to do it on the phone. So my apologies for only doing 1/13th of it.

Looks brilliant though, I'm sure you'll all agree.

No worries Nick - I picked up a full weekends work on Friday, so it was good to get away from spreadsheets and move a page of Scimitarweb every hour or two :-)
