Post by MikeyBikey » Sat May 18, 2013 9:25 am

Hi Folks, I appreciate their is a lot of info already posted but can anyone point me towards a post or info regarding competing in the 5a road going class on Sunday.

I'm looking at the minimum i need to do to the car to be able to compete :)

Is there a scrutineer i can talk to to get some ideas.

MSA Blue Book

Sections H (licenses), K (safety) and L (tyres) are key.

Section J (vehicles) is generic for all disciplines, so section S has specifics for sprinting.

This will move you out of roadgoing series production I'm afraid:

11.8.1. Roadgoing Series Production Cars.
(a) The gearbox and differential casing must be externally identifiable as that fitted to the original model or specified option and remain in their original position.
(b) The method of gear selection must remain standard (sequential selection only where fitted as standard).

I am sure Craig can put you right- or you have have a chat with one of us at Curbs on Fri. Key point will be a competition licence and MSA approved safety gear.

The main issue will be the 5 speed box sends you into modified production which then requires you to have a full roll cage
